Truthfully, it’s a Manji symbol, not a swastika. The Nazis ripped it off from iconography they found in the far East.

However the general theme of the debate over the acceptability of the iconography is that sure, it was once a widely used religious symbol, but that does not clear its name, so to speak, of the horrific and massive offenses committed by those who used it later in time.
